Uju, a singer, songwriter, and producer, blends R&B/soul and trap with synth, Afro percussions, and ambients in her music. Her latest sound explores growth, empowerment, and self-discovery, inspired by her journey.

Born in Kaduna, Nigeria, Uju's musical journey began with the diverse sounds of Nigerian traditional music and tunes from her dad's cassette player. She developed her skills in church choirs, competitions, and at Tenstrings Music Institute. Joining Barbengeez marked a milestone, releasing singles like "The Way You Make Me Feel" and "Ginikinacho (Temptation)."

Her path continued with tracks like "Taboo Love," "Brushed to the Side," "Focus," "Good Anger," and "Second Chance." Uju has been recognized at the African Music Merit Awards (AMMA) for "Most Promising Diva" and won Best English Lyrics at the Afrimusic competition for "Little Girls Grow." Her self-produced tracks "I Need My Pain" and "No More" received honorable mentions from the Signature Songwriting Community (SSC).

Infusing soulful melodies and expressive storytelling, Uju draws inspiration from artists like Nina Simone, Sade, Brandy, Labyrinth, Aaliyah and Erykah Badu.

She's performed at notable venues and events, including Spotlight Abuja, the Terry G Album Listening Concert, Barlang in Szentendre, and the 1Live Hungary live streaming concert at the Hard Rock Cafe. Collaborating with songwriters like Johnny K. Palmer, Mariami, Funckleff, and Tolu, as well as artists such as Toby $pades, Nero, and Bemshima, Uju aims to inspire self-discovery and empowerment through her music.

Looking ahead, Uju plans to collaborate with producers to create a sonic alchemy where every note tells a story, inviting listeners to embrace authenticity and break societal norms.

My mission is simple: To inspire and empower through creativity and sound, challenging norms, and making meaningful connections."
